How Does It Work?
During the harvest season, running for 26 weeks from the beginning of June through November, Farm Spot members come to St. Mark's Church (33-50 82nd Street) on Thursdays anytime from 5-8 p.m. to pick up their produce.
Since Farm Spot is a volunteer-run endeavor, each member is asked to give a minimum of 4 hours of their time during the year to keep the CSA running. Volunteer responsibilities primarily involve working at weekly distribution, but can also be fulfilled by participating in the low income task force, data entry, special events and vendor recruitment. Membership includes a weekly newsletter from the farm with recipes and information, and CSA events include cooking demonstrations and farm trips.
