Volunteer Information
Each membership is required to volunteer 4 hours per season (that is per share, not per household. Two households splitting a share only need to volunteer 4 hours total between them).
Please sign up at distribution for shifts to fulfill your volunteer commitment!
Here are the various opportunities for lending a hand:
DISTRIBUTION
Help our farmer unload the truck, set up the crates and tables, sign in members, collect payments, weigh vegetables, clean up the site, store crates, bring surplus produce to charity.
When: 2 or 4 hours on Thursdays, 4:30-6:30 p.m., 6:30-8:30 p.m. or 4:30-8:30 p.m. at St. Mark's.
FARM EVENTS PLANNING
Coordinate group trips to Golden Earthworm Farmby distributing info, collecting RSVPs, arranging transportation and other logistics.
When: 2-3 trips per season.
COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS
Coordinate monthly cooking demonstrations at St. Mark's. Post information, organize logistics.
When: Biweekly or Monthly, on Thursdays 5-8 p.m.
COMPUTER WORK:
Data entry, bookkeeping.
When: Flexible.
CORE GROUP:
Lend your skills at the organizational level at grant writing,fundraising, legal issues, or coordination of various committees.
